Chapter Three: Diagnosis and Treatment
  1. How did doctors justify using patients in public hospital wards as medical research subjects without obtaining their consent or offering them financial compensation? Do you agree or disagree with their reasoning? Explain your answer.  Looking at the consent statement that Henrietta signed on page 31 do you believe Telinde and Guy had a right to obtain a sample from her cervix for use in their research?  Did Henrietta understand what she was signing?  Explain your answers.
The doctors dont have any justification at all on wards while they get specimen  from clients  irrespective of the clients being paying or non paying . I also believe the fact that someone has signed any legally binding aggreement and dont understand it it shouldn be enfoeceable by law as  an aggreement because there is alot of misrepresentation between the lines  and not all things on the aggreement are in Black and white to the person signing it. Id rather the  aggreement be in a tape recording in a language that the parties all understand.
