Week 16 Discussion of Two paragrahs

Despite her fears , Deborah dint die on her thirtieth birthday. She just kept raising her kids, working various jobs as a barber ,notary public, chemical mixer at a cement plant, grocers store clerk ,limousine driver . page 207
Its sad when theres the thought that someone is just thirty and has three kids and they dint have or rather the expectation wasnt there that they  will live that far. Its just thirty and this is isnt Africa or some third world country. The array of jobs this lady did was really intreasting . It tells us what kind of a person she is. Strong enough to do any kind of a job so as to provide for her family.  It tells us how devoted she is towards family to have done the kind of jobs she did.
What I wondered most was ;Had she not kids , would she have the kind of jobs she did. I also wondered how she managed to live and sleep at night with the thought of her health not being the best . Knowing that you may die anytime when you have family isnt easy . What do you dream at night? what do you see when you look at your children ;I assumed that her  being thirtish with three kids she must have gotten them all together of got into family way way close
During The first Visit with the henriettas cousinsCootie,as we sat drinking juicehe told me that no one  ever talked about Henrietta .Not when she was sick ,not after she died and not now. " We dint say words like cancer " he told me "and we dont tell stories of dead folks" At this point ,he said  the family had gone so long without talking about Henrietta , Its almost like she never existed , except her children and those cells.
I chose this passage because it was really intreasting on how Cootoe was supertituousabout talking about the dead , alsothe way description of Hela cells "Those cells" Its like there there is so  much hate as to how theynever brought anygood thing to the family .Its also intreasting on how they never wanted to discuss about her at first and later opened up later to the point a book was written .Wondered  why they never wanted to talk baout Henrieta lack during her sickness and after her death !Would it have changed how the family felt after their loss.
